Pages that have content, but are not finished and still missing something specific. Add the following code to any section of a page that needs work:

This is a list of things to do, copied and edited from the to do page on the old wiki. If you have some spare time, please do try and fulfill some of them at least partially.

Guidelines

• IMPORTANT! We need definitive contributing guide for basic wiki editing and uploading
  • The only thing right now is please do not upload video game screenshots in lossy formats like JPG if possible, and please compress all PNG images using PNGGauntlet.
• Generally, try to write articles with the intention of structuring the wiki into three separate pseudo-categories.
  • Themes - Everything about a theme, sets, characters, media, concept etc...
  • Video games - Everything about particular video games and what is in them. There "shouldn't" be overlap between Themes and Video games as Themes describe the Intellectual Property as a whole whereas VG detail a particular product. When two pages arise, e.g Characters of Theme, Characters of video game, these should be two pages: [Theme] Characters explains characters from a product perspective, appearances, advertising, marketed personality, sets etc., while [VG] Characters - Explains characters as they appear in the video game, purpose, function, interactions, graphics, appearances, variations etc.
    • I still don't understand the physical and game minifigure split, what is there to actually say about the physical minifigures without mentioning their backstory that deserves a page separate from the sets they appear in?
  • Modding - game mods, technical info about file formats, configuration, modding tutorials and modding tools. Also included Rock Raiders United-related info, though this will probably mostly fall under the RRU Knowledge Base pagename.
  • Material about canon story is kind of its own fourth pseudo-category, being divided between the Theme and Video Game sections depending on which end the story behind it more comes from. While writing, it'd probably be better to think of it as more of a Canon-Product split in writing styles - eg, the pages Hover Scout and 4910 Hover Scout.
  • One big point, for anyone who remembers the old wiki - *please* keep things less Rock Raiders-centric.
• Modernization - "The wiki is meant to escape the traditional look of the old wiki and use better design and web standards." Not entirely sure what Cyrem meant by this, but I've been trying to just write out simple pages with images and such so far, without any of the usual bogged-down wiki infobox stuff, so whether this is good or not it should still be easy to fix any issues from here.
  • Rework and remake a lot of templates - the old wiki had a lot of archaic and ugly templates, new ones should be more simple and flow with existing design. I have not done a good job at this so far, and a number of infoboxes are kinda ugly - though most so far are "hey finish working on this" boxes
    • Maybe a universal box template could be developed, and all the existing box templates could use that one as a base?
    • Need someone who knows a lot about wiki coding to help with this!
  • Less repetitive linking - Some pages link to other pages on nearly every mention of a word (e.g Crystal), A word should only be linked to a page at most- a few times depending on the length of the page. The first mention should always be linked. Additional times should only be linked if there is a lot of text between each link or if it's crucial to something being explained, eg. a list in the middle of a page.

• IMPORTANT! Get all the template infoboxes looking nicer - might want universal "boiler plate" infobox templates, and redo all the existing box templates to expand off of that? Need someone who knows a lot about wiki formatting to help with this!
• LANGUAGES - please see Category:Language tables missing information for pages missing language information.
  • Czech and Finnish Rock Raiders game info missing, possibly more for characters and sets.
  • Everything for all other languages currently.
• Rock Raiders canon:
  • Rock Raiders vehicles: Most pages are good, but may want more descriptive descriptions of the vehicles themselves, unless a picture being worth a thousand words applies here. Specific locations in PS1 levels may also be desired once the level pages have been fleshed out.
  • Rock types: Opening paragraph might need rewriting, maybe not.
• Rock Raiders SYSTEM sets:
  • Part lists for all sets are a mess, with no consistency to their organization and dead links in some cases since peeron has changed since it was written.
    • We may want to move away from peeron to a more reliable, better quality site, though it seems every parts list site has a fair number of flaws
  • Rewrite descriptions to be nicer and more helpful
  • IMPORTANT! Better scans of the box art (and the Heroes cards) are needed sometime, if anyone has good-condition boxes and a suitable scanner (or a good camera with a good lighting setup)
• File types:
  • Map file: Possibly define format better?
• Rework main page - Make a popular pages section on the front page (dynamic updating if possible). Currently not sure how to do this.

Old to do stuff that I'm not sure where to fit

• IMPORTANT! set up pages for in-game Rock Raiders stuff
• IMPORTANT! get good screenshots! A lot of old uploads were JPGs. Direct3DHAL preferred.
  • Add screenshots of objects as they appear in-game. (Please use high poly images whenever possible) <-- need to confirm if this meant mod high-poly images in or not
• IMPORTANT! WE NEED PS1 IMAGES!!! <-- still true 7 years later - need to configure ePSXe or some emulator to display the cleanest, most accurate way and redo what images we had
• Images I've uploaded have had decent descriptions so far but might need to double check at some point
• Figure out what to do with levels page - should there be one on its own or just a list on the game pages?
• RRU mod stuff? maybe RRU: namespace?
• Make pages in Wanted Pages. Make sure they are not double pages (set up a redirect or fix a spelling mistake if so.)
• Click on Random Page and make the page that you get to better
• Avoid double Redirects
• Make list of all levels and mods <-- did not document things outside of Baz's Mod and Time Raiders well before
• Config Documentation
• Go to each category and click "What Links Here." Categories should not be linked to by main articles or redirects, as they are only meant for sorting purposes, not reading. If a category is being used as an article, a proper article should be made, or a section on a pre-existing article should be made to reference the articles in that category.
  • I'm not so sure about this but okay
• Rewrite dropdown list on debug keys page to be nicer

• Rock Raiders interactive comic - Entire game missing
• Rock Raiders comics - 4940, 4980, 4990 comics needed. I know I had a high-quality PDF of 4990 at one point, no idea where it is now but it exists somewhere out there.
• Rock Raiders United any other logos, banners, general news and info you know of
