The Power Station is a building used by the Rock Raiders for refining energy crystals and supplying the extracted power to other buildings in Rock Raiders HQ. Though most of the building does not appear in any LEGO set, the top part of the main tower is in the set 4990 Rock Raiders HQ, where it is used to cut open geodes containing energy crystals.
In LEGO Rock Raiders for Windows
In the Windows version of LEGO Rock Raiders, the Power Station is one of the two buildings unlocked upon upgrading the Teleport Pad. It has an unusual L-shape, taking up only three blocks of a 2x2 space, with two construction blocks in the center and to the side but only one power path to the front of the main tower. Once it has been constructed and sufficient energy crystals have been stored, any buildings that are connected to the Power Station by power paths will be powered. Rock Raiders will now deposit energy crystals into the Power Station instead of the Tool Store, though any that were previously deposited there can still be used for power. Additionally, electric fences can be placed when the Power Station is built, and will all be powered as soon as any energy crystals have been stored.
Upgrades
There is one upgrade level available for the Power Station:
- Level 1: Allows for the Support Station, the Upgrade Station, the Geological Center, and the Ore Refinery to be constructed.
Dependency
The Power Station costs 2 energy crystals and 12 pieces of ore (or 3 building studs) and requires the following for construction:
- Rock Raider
- Level 1 Tool Store
- Level 1 Teleport Pad
In the PlayStation game
In the PlayStation version of LEGO Rock Raiders, the Power Station does not have any function, as the Teleport Pad and Teleport Station are self-powered. It only appears in the level Supply Base, where it can be seen refining ore, like its set counterpart does.
