The following is the text from the homepage of Rock Raiders United during the summer 2017 maintenance:

Dear Members,

Thank you for being a part of this community and you for your patience. RRU began almost 9 years ago, which when it started seemed like an impossibly long time for the forum to exist. If you are a long time member who was there from the beginning you may remember a topic which discussed RRU in 5 years. Back then, for the forum to last that long sounded like a huge milestone. That milestone was nearly 4 years ago. A lot of us joined RRU when we were just teenagers, perhaps even younger, and have practically grown up with the forum. If you're one of them, hats off to you for such for your loyal support. During that time many known members have come and gone, you may remember some that you spoke to in the past. Others have gone through lows and highs in their lives and used RRU as their output, trying to learn and cope with their lives looking for comfort or advice. Some first started to learn programming or content creating, inspired by content they saw on the forum... Of which some have progressed to building a career in. RRU is rich in personal life experience.

So has RRU closed?
No.

Has data been lost?
No.

Has there been a technical malfunction?
No.

Is this an extended update downtime?
No.

So what can you tell me?
The LMS Explorer has been sucked into another wormhole. When we get to the end, we'll see whats there.

But is RRU coming back?
Yes.

The lines after the main paragraph were eventually removed and replaced with status updates and the following sentence:

Please be assured that RRU is not closing and it will return again.

Around August 21, the entire message was replaced with this:

Thank you for your on-going support and patience while RRU is being renovated. The forum will be available again soon for you to browse. Until then, check up on the status seen on the right, chat with friends below or even assist with the Old Wiki -> Knowledgebase rebuild (links at bottom).

See you again soon.
