The Tunnel Scout is a flying vehicle used by the Rock Raiders for advanced reconnaissance. It is a small helicopter that can transport a Rock Raider across land, water, and lava, keeping its pilot out of trouble with its high speed. It did not appear in any sets, and does not appear outside of the video games.
In the PC game
In the Windows version of LEGO Rock Raiders, the Tunnel Scout is classified as a small vehicle, and requires three Energy Crystals for power. A Rock Raider must be trained as a pilot to use a Tunnel Scout.
The Tunnel Scout is a fairly fast vehicle, capable of moving at 2.5 blocks per second. It is the only vehicle in the game that is able to cross lava, making it especially useful in levels with erosion, and generally overshadowing the Hover Scout. There are no upgrades available for this vehicle.
Appearances
- In Search 'n' Rescue, an abandoned Tunnel Scout can be found at the beginning of the second river.
Dependency
The Tunnel Scout costs 3 Energy Crystals and requires the following for teleportation:
- Rock Raider
- Tool Store [UP1]
- Teleport Pad [UP2]
- Power Station [UP1]
- Support Station [UP1]
In the PlayStation game
The Tunnel Scout appears often in the PlayStation version of LEGO Rock Raiders, though it is often overshadowed by the far more powerful Tunnel Transport.
