Ground
Ground is the default surface type.
On the radar screen, Ground, here called the Cavern Floor, appears as extremely dark purple when exposed, and dark red when hidden.
In the Windows version of LEGO Rock Raiders, Ground is designated in the Predug map with a hexadecimal value of 01 00
when exposed and 02 00
when hidden; in the PlayStation version, it is designated in the Terrain map with a value of 01 00

Water
On the radar screen, Water appears as blue whether exposed or hidden.
Water is designated in the Terrain map with a hexadecimal value of 09 00

Lava
On the radar screen, Lava appears as reddish-orange whether exposed or hidden.
Lava is designated in the Terrain map with a hexadecimal value of 06 00
in both the Windows version and the PlayStation version.

Power Path
On the radar screen, constructed Power Paths appear as dark yellow when unpowered, and bright yellow when powered; Power Paths that are part of buildings always appear as light grey whether or not they're powered. Hidden Power Paths aren't shown on the radar.
